Binder Park Zoo - June 24, 2009

ImageI'm sure there were other animals besides giraffes at the Binder Park Zoo, but truthfully? I don't remember them. As we hopped on the tram that took us to Africa, we knew we'd be able to feed giraffes, but we had no idea what an incredible experience it would be. We were all wearing our new zoo shirts from Zooshirts.com, and mine just happens to be a giraffe shirt. The giraffe habitat is huge, so I had my doubts that they'd actually meander over to the feeding deck. But, oh my word. There were four giraffes—two big enough to put their whole head over the fence and two who weren't. Crackers were 6 for $5 which is a steal to begin with—and you could stay on deck as long as you wanted! No taking your turn and getting off. And you could pet the giraffes! And stroke them! And hug them! And kiss them! We got some amazing pictures, and it was my single most favorite experience at any zoo (up to that point) BAR NONE. I heart giraffes!!
