We kicked off our East Coast Zoo Tour with a trip to the Buffalo Zoo. We got up early and spent an hour at Niagara Falls before the zoo opened—the weather was perfect, the falls breathtaking. Jennifer, the PR Director at the Zoo (born and raised a Buckeye)met us bearing gifts. We started our day at Rainforest Falls, a stunning new exhibit replicating a national park in Venezuela—realistic, gorgeous, huge variety of animals. Next up—giraffes! We each got to feed them—my all-time favorite zoo experience. Then we spent quite a bit of time watching the extra-active tigers—Gabe's favorite animal to photograph. We also enjoyed the polar bears, elephants, gorillas and white-faced Sakis. What a great start to our 6-Zoos-in-5-Days Tour!
