Two thumbs up for the Kansas City Zoo! Our first stop (after the super-active river otters) was the Sea Lion Show. It was probably the best one we've seen yet (not counting Sea World). The sea lions did all kinds of crazy stunts. We rode the carousel, then took the tram to African Market. We watched two huge male silverback gorillas being fed (the keeper threw them pieces of fruits and veggies). Our favorite animal of the day was a male Grant's zebra foal—he was just 15 days old and running and skipping all over the place. His perfect little body and brown stripes were too adorable. The new Tropics exhibit (indoor rainforest) was beautiful but pretty small. Besides Nina wiping out and skinning her knees in her haste to see the hippo, we had a great day!
