You know you're not in Ohio when security officers at the zoo are wearing cowboy hats. We started off our OKC zoo tour with a lot of fish, birds and reptiles—not our favorite creatures—but the big, furry animals came soon enough. Bears, red pandas, okapi (always a treat!), giraffes, zebras, lots of antelope. The meerkats were active—scurrying to and fro with their little meerkat agendas. Gorillas, orangutans, chimps. Lots of big cats—lions, jaguars, snow leopards, tigers. The Sumatran tiger was one of the most stunning animals we've ever seen—gorgeous eyes, sharply contrasting stripes. Awesome. The weather was beautiful and the company delightful. Great day!
