We met up with my cousin Katherine, her husband Matt, and their five kids at the zoo, so we had quite the entourage. The kids had a blast running around to all the exhibits together—brought back some fuzzy childhood memories. We loved the orangutans and chimpanzees—some of their antics had us adults giggling and snickering like little kids. The penguin exhibit is really nice (but smelly, as all penguin exhibits are). We got to feed giraffes (never gets old), and Gabe got some great shots of a not-very-old baby. The Tiger Trek is a new exhibit that's very pretty. We got there in time to watch them feed the tigers humongous chunks of raw meat—fascinating if not appetizing. We really enjoyed this charming zoo!
